History of UCO Bank, Singapore
UCO Bank started its operation in Singapore from the 21st April 1951 and at present has two branches here.
UCO Bank first started operations from rented premises in the erstwhile Raffles Quay area, which is presently the Raffles MRT entrance opposite to Finlayson Green.
In 1967, the Bank purchased the building of Banque De Indo Suez when the said French bank moved out of Singapore. Since the building was old and needed renovations the bank decided to upgrade the building and so moved temporarily to Chow House on Robinson Road.
The old French bank building was demolished and Bharat Building was developed jointly with Indian Bank who was our neighbour even when we were located in the French Bank building. We moved into Bharat Builing in 1988 and have been operating from there ever since.
Our Serangoon branch started its operations in Little India, Singapore from 07th March 1959.
